Augusta University is an 12-year-old university with a nearly 200-year history. With its origins dating back to the 1828 founding of the Medical College of Georgia, this institution in its current incarnation was established in 2013 as the consolidation of Augusta State University and Georgia Health Sciences University. This new university was last reaffirmed for accreditation in 2016 and submitted its first ever Fifth Year Interim Report in 2022.
